There is nothing quite like the New York Dance Festival, held for the past 23 years by International Producer and American Choreographer Sean McLeod, along with the international faculty and the New York Institute of Dance & Educationstaff. The love in the room is contagious and everyone who enters is showered with its abundance and generosity. Everyone is taught to greet each other with hugs and people are encouraged to celebrate one another’s accomplishments. There is no sense of competition amongstthe dancers, whether professional or first day beginners or anyone else involved in the Festival; rather, everyone strives to uplift the group and work as a whole. Here are some excerpts from interviews taken on Day 3 of the 2014 New York Dance Festival.
